Rooted in nature, grounded in real learning.

Mission Statement

At Tender Roots Playschool, we believe childhood is not a race to reading, writing, and arithmetic, it’s a season to be lived slowly, outdoors, with wonder intact, and grounded in the love of God.

Our mission is to offer young children a rich, unhurried environment built on real experiences, real books, real nature, real relationships, and everyday faith, where academics grow naturally out of play, not the other way around.

We exist for Christian families who want their 3–5 year olds to be curious, capable, kind, and deeply known.

Our Faith Foundation 〰️

Tender Roots Playschool is an in-home Christian preschool program, rooted in the belief that every child is a beloved creation of God, made for love, wonder, and belonging.

We keep our faith simple and central: we talk openly about God’s love, we practice gratitude, and we pray together before meals. Our goal isn’t to teach denominational doctrine — it’s to help children feel, from their very first years, that they are loved by God and called to love others as well.

Kindness, gratitude, patience, and generosity aren’t taught from a curriculum here; they’re practiced daily, in real moments, in a home-like setting where faith is simply part of the air we breathe.

This is a warm fit for Christian families of many backgrounds who want their young child’s early years to include prayer, gratitude, and gentle conversation about God’s love, without a denomination-specific lens.

Meet the Teacher!

Hi, I’m Miss Courtney! I’m a mom before I’m anything else, and this preschool grew out of the same conviction that shapes how I plan to raise my own kids: little children don’t need more worksheets, they need more woods, more wonder, and more time.

With a background in early childhood education, youth programming, and higher education, I’ve spent years thinking about how people actually learn — and the answer, especially for the youngest learners, keeps coming back to the same place: hands in dirt, books read aloud, real conversations, and long stretches of unstructured play.

Tender Roots Playschool is a small, in-home program so that every child gets to be seen as a whole person, not managed as part of a crowd.
